Westchester CHSAA School Set to Close
Just days ago the news spread that another CHSAA basketball program will shut their doors forever.

New York high school closings have become more and more common with many schools shutting down due to lack of funding.
This coming June, Blessed Sacrament/St. Gabriel HS, the home of the Cardinals is next to close due to lack of student enrollment; the school currently list only 200 students.
The announcement was given this past Tuesday by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York saying that the numbers have been going down while the schools deficit just keeps going up. The Archdiocese also disclosed that St Agnes Boys High in Manhattan, NY and 22 elementary schools will close as well.
The Cardinals basketball program ends with noted alumni stars NBA Larry Hennessy (1929-2008), Jarrid Famous D-League Los Angeles D-Fenders and senior guard Jhared Hall who attends Loyola Maryland University, MAAC sixth man of the year 2010-2011. In addition David Samuels also played as a Cardinal.
