Team Uptown took on United Brooklyn in the second semifinal, it was yet another barnburner. Again, the one-on-one battles took center stage but the outcome would again be the same. This time it was Napoleonic point guard Markquis Nowell ‘18 taking on the world which on Friday meant United Brooklyn. The junior led Team Uptown with 23 points and numerous assists but his herculean effort came up short as Louis King ‘17 and Richards netted 25 points and 19 points respectively. The Battle Royale lived up to the hype as United Brooklyn sought to dethrone Milbank. As the spat between Flores and Washington took place, big men Richards and Brown also went at each other. The lead swayed back and forth but Milbank led by 5 points at the half as Washington laced United Brooklyn with alley-oops high flying Wilson. A late surge sparked by Flores and Richards eventually put Milbank on its heels and United Brooklyn team effort led them to victory. The dynamic duo secured the win but had the help an all-star cast that included Marcus McClary ‘17, Jamir Harris ‘17 and Deondre Bourne ’17.
