Tri-State Classic Gets Underway

HARLEM, NY - Summer tournaments are springing up all over New York City as high school players hone their skills for the upcoming season.

One of the most fiercely competitive events is the Tri-State Classic held at 145th and Lenox Ave. NYCHoops.net was on hand for some of the first weekend's action.
Mad Mob pillage T2, 71-38
The first of the high school division games on Sunday turned out to be a massacre as Mad Mob moved out in front early and continued to increase the point spread throughout the game.
Jordan Parks led the Mad Mob with a game high 27 points while Isaiah Cousins paced T2 with 10 points.
Sean Bell rings up NY Lions, 74-54
The Sean Bell All-Stars made a statement in the final high school division game of the weekend. Led by an aggressive Jordan Washington, Sean Bell broke the game open in the second half and extended the NY Lions deficit to double digits. The game was over midway through the fourth quarter.
Washing ton scored a game high 27 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Emile Blackman was high man for the Lions with 21 points.
