Basketball in New York City is tough. Every night, teams battle to be the best. But one team keeps winning Archbishop Stepinac.

Stepinac is the team to beat. They have a 21-3 record and haven’t lost a league game. Twelve straight wins prove they don’t just play well; they play great every time.

Their stars shine bright 6’5” G Jasiah Jervis (Archbishop Stepinac, NY ‘26 ), a 4-star recruit, scores big in big games. 6’1” PG Danny Carbuccia (Archbishop Stepinac HS, NY '25) just hit 1,000 career points. The Ratliff twins, 6’9” Wing Adonis Ratliff (Archbishop Stepinac HS, NY ‘26) and 6’9” Wing Darius Ratliff (Archbishop Stepinac HS, NY ‘26) are powerful inside, just like their father, former NBA player Theo Ratliff.

Their coach, Pat Massaroni, knows how to win. Two city championships and Coach of the Year honors show why Stepinac is at the top.

The Contenders

But New York basketball is never easy. St. Francis Prep, Thomas Jefferson, Eagle Academy, and Cardinal Hayes are right behind Stepinac. Each team is hungry. Each team wants that top spot.

The challenge? Playing well every night. A bad game can cost you a season. A hot streak can take you to the top.

The College Dream

For seniors, this is their last dance. Scouts are watching. Scholarships are on the line. This is the time to prove they belong at the next level. Players like 6’5” SF Brandon Stores Jr. (St. Raymond HS, NY ’25) from St. Raymond and 6’5” SG Kiyan Anthony (Long Island Lutheran HS, NY ‘25) from Long Island Lutheran want to make sure their names are remembered.

The Road to the Playoffs

Now, the real fun begins. The playoffs are coming. The crowd will be loud. Every shot will matter. Can Stepinac stay on top? Or will a challenger rise? New York basketball fans are about to find out.
