Summer Camp Preview

It feels like summer out there in New York City right now so we figured it's as good a time as any to take an early look at the July camp schedule and peak into who might be where.
University of Akron -
This is the second year of the LeBron Academy and will be preceded by four position-specific camps headlining Steve Nash (point guards), Kobe Bryant (shooting guards), Vince Carter (small forwards) and Amare Stoudemire (big men). What is unique this year is that a couple of the likely invites, namely Brooklyn Lincoln star Lance Stephenson and St. Patrick of Elizabeth (NJ) standout Dexter Strickland, are also trying out for the FIBA Americas U18 Championship team that will go to Argentina July 14-18. If Stephenson and/or Strickland make the team during tryouts at Georgetown July 1-4, they will be at Georgetown for training camp July 4-10 and thus would miss the LeBron Academy.
Big Names You Can Expect: Lance Stephenson*, Dexter Strickland*, DeMarcus Cousins, Xavier Henry, David & Travis Wear
Potential Local Flavor: Durand Scott (Rice);
Philadelphia University -
This camp is the equivalent of last year's Rbk U at Philly U, which replaced the old ABCD Camp run by Sonny Vaccaro and Chris Rivers at FDU. With Vaccaro now retired and taking on the NBA and NCAA in his own battles, Rivers is now the main man and did a great job last year. This camp will be preceded by a series of Headliner Tryout Camps, one of which already took place at St. Raymond's in the Bronx.
Big Names You Can Expect: Renardo Sidney, Dominic Cheek, John Wall, Kenny Boynton.
Local Flavor (Based on last year): Austin Johnson (Rutgers commit); Tristan Thompson (St. Benedict's, Texas commit); Fuquan Edwin (Paterson Catholic, offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall ; Malik Wayns (Villanova commit).
