Reebok Summer Chip Elite 8 Update

LAS VEGAS-California Supreme, Team Detroit, Texas Bluechips Navy and New Jersey's Playaz Basketball club all won quarterfinal games Thursday to advance to Friday's finale of the special mini-tournament featuring the top 8 seeds in the 3rd Annual Reebok Summer Championships boy's prep summer basketball tournament.
With the rest of the field starting with traditional pool play of three games in two-days, the top 8 seeds in the 3rd Annual Reebok Summer Championships are playing in the two-day 'Reebok Create-N-Finish Cup' mini-tournament.

A total of 136 teams from 28 States and Canada are in Las Vegas to play 334 games during the popular four-day event, the prestigious national boy's open division tournament that will crown summer's best in five divisions. The tournament is being played on 12 courts at six high schools in Southern Nevada.
The top 8 pre-seeded teams are: California Supreme, Inglewood, Calif.; D-One Sports, Louisburg, N.C.; Team Detroit; Texas Blue Chips Navy, Dallas; New York Panthers, Baldwin, N.Y.; Playaz Basketball Club, Paterson, N.J.; MBA Elite, Jackson, Miss.; and the Dakota Schoolers, Sioux Falls, S.D.
In Thursday's quarterfinals, California Supreme, playing without top players Tyler Lamb and Dwayne Polee who will join the team on Friday, defeated the Dakota Schoolers, 71-60, Team Detroit beat the New York Panthers, 70-52, Texas Bluechips Navy slipped by D-One Sports, 55-51 and Playaz Basketball Club won by a 60-52 score over MBA Elite.
Prior to Friday's 8 p.m. championship game in the mini-tournament in the Foothills HS main gym, the semifinals will have Texas Blue Chips Navy meeting Team Detroit at 11:15 a.m. and California Supreme playing Playaz Basketball Club at 12:30 p.m.
Myles Davis' 24 points led Playaz Basketball Club along with 17 by Charles Oliver.
