Playaz Club Handle Hawks

On Friday, at Rumble in the Bronx at Mount Vernon's Hooperstown began with a pool play battle between the Playaz Club and the home team Westchester Hawks.
While they fought valiantly, the Hawks would lose in a close finish to the team from New Jersey, 66-62.
The Playaz star Dominic Cheek was absent from today's game because of lower back pain, however still without him the Playaz team stole the lead early on with an opening three-point shot from Brian Oliver.
The fiery Hawks Greg Desantis answered back with an outside three-point shot taking the lead for his team. Then Westchester's Lenzie Harrison made an athletic leap intercepting the ball from the Playaz.
Both teams traded back-to-back threes by Ameer Brown for the Hawks and Oliver for the Playaz but the NJ team would stretch out to a 7 point lead.
The Hawks fought back tying up the score34-34 with two minutes left in the first half.
Sherrod Wright put down a two hand dunk and took the lead for once more for the Playaz but Jackson would come in for a nice layup shot tying back the score again..
With only 43 seconds left on the clock Jackson hits a three-pointer ending the first half with the Westchester Hawks up, 39-38.
Throughout the second half the Hawk's Ralph Watts out hustled the Playaz keeping the game alive for his team. The Hawks maintained their lead until Wright hit a three-pointer for his team tying up the score again.
The Playaz would remain in the lead throughout the second half as the Hawks got in foul trouble. The Playaz Club would go on to take out the Westchester Hawks in a close finish 66-62.
The high scorer of the game for the Playaz team was Brian Oliver with 21 points and Sherrod Wright adding 14 points.
The Westchester Hawks leading scorer was John Calarco with 15 points and Otis Anderson with 12 points.
