Philly-New York All-City Classic

PHILADELPHIA, PA– On September 23-24, 2016, the gymnasiums at Imhotep Charter, 6201 N. 21st Street, Philadelphia, PA and Benjamin Franklin High School, 550 North Broad Street Philadelphia, PA will be standing room only, as scouts, coaches, various media outlets, and basketball constituents gather to support the Philly-New York All City Classic.

This two day basketball event features the top 10 players in New York City competing against the top 10 players from Philadelphia in grades 8-12.

New York players scheduled to participate: Isaiah Washington, Jose Alvarado, Markquis Nowell, Moses Brown, Aidan Igiehon and Cole Anthony.

From a basketball perspective, an enormous amount of talent has filtered through these two cities over the past 50 years. The list of professional players is endless as is the long time rivalry between New York City and Philadelphia aka Statue of Liberty vs. Liberty Bell, Yankees vs. Phillies, Giants vs. Eagles, Jay-Z vs. Will Smith, Nathan’s Hot Dog vs. Cheesesteak, Kareem Abdu-Jabbar vs. Wilt Chamberlain. The Philly-New York All City Classic, is created to help contribute to this rivalry.

The social media outlets and message boards are already buzzing in anticipation of this upcoming event.

Shandue McNeill and Charles Monroe, the co founders of Philly-New York All City Classic, have joined forces to contribute to this never ending debate. There are a tremendous amount of highly skilled, highly competitive players from both cities. Consequently, it’s history in the making.
