Here are brief recaps of Team Scan, NY Lightning and Albany City Rocks games.
Team Scan Overtake Athletes First, 63-49
Team Scan took control of the game early and never let up, ending the weekend at 3-1. Spearheaded by a 22 point performance by Rashard Figures, the Bronx, NY squad would lead Athletes First by twelve point heading into the second half.
Conrad Chambers did a good job setting the table leading to additional double digits from Chris McCullough and Cheick Diallo which help stave off a second half attack from their Oklahoma opponents.
Figures was high man for Team Scan while McCullough and Diallo added 19 points and 10 points respectively. Allonzo Trier was the only player from Athletes First with double-digits, notching 17 points
Spiece Indy Heat Crumble Albany City Rocks, 61-56
In a game that remained close throughout, City Rocks would fall to 1-3 with a loss to the Indy Heat. While City Rocks received balanced scoring from Jamil Hood, Tyler Lydon and John Schurman, the Heat simply scored more points when it counted.
Down 29-26 at the half, City Rocks did step up their defensive intensity but dominate offensive effort from James Blackmon and Jaquan Lyle would ultimately lead to their undoing.
Blackmon led Indy Heat with a game-high 19 points while Lyle filled up his stat sheet with 11 points, 5 assists and 8 rebounds. Hood paced Albany City Rocks with 12 points with Lydon and Schurman adding 10 points apiece.
CIA Bounce NY Lightning, 61-49
The NY Lightning would end up at 2-2 after taking a loss to the Bounce, a team from Canada. After a solid first half, the Lightning would relinquish a 4 point first half lead as Cassidy Ryan unleashed a double-double performance.
While Angel Delgado put forth a solid overall game, the Lightning did not receive much additional point production. Add to that, 13 turnovers to go with a 38.6 second half field goal percentage and it would be an uphill battle for the Long Island team.
Tyrell Bellot-Green led CIA Bounce with 14 points with Ryan and Anthony Pate contributing 12 and 10 points respectively. Delgado led NY Lightning with 18 points and 20 rebounds with Khadeen Carrington adding 11 points and 5 rebounds.
