NY In Kreul C.O.P. Classics

On Monday, City of Palms and Kreul Classic (FL) continued into the final stages. With one day left in the tournaments some NYC teams remained others were left behind to head off to Tuesdays consolation round.

St Raymonds would creep by Louisville Trinity (KY) in overtime to advance on to this Monday's quarter-finals to face Montverde (FL). In this contest, Montverde captured the lead at the end of the half 42-33. Montverde would finish off the Ravens in a convincing 80-61 finish. This Tuesday the action continues when St Raymonds face Mater Dei (CA) in the fifth-place consolation semi-finals at 3:30pm.
Kreul Classic
In the Kreul Classic NYC was well represented with Thomas Jefferson, Cardinal Hayes, South Shore and Middleton. All teams advanced on to today's sweet sixteen.
Cardinal Hayes (NY) surpassed St Thomas (FL) by the end of the half with 25-13 lead. Hayes toppled the Florida team finishing strong 54-38 to advance to the championship round. Amadou Sidibe led for Hayes with 14points with Jalen Jenkins to add 12point.
South Shore Vikings (NY) led by seven at the end of the half over Northeast (FL) 27-20. In this close match-up, the Florida team fought their way to a 58-56 victory. Shamiek Sheppard led the Vikings with 18 points followed by Wayne Martin who added 13 points. Sheppard also won the event's Slam Dunk Competition.
Thomas Jefferson (NY) led by the end of the half 42-36 over Coral Springs Christian (FL). The Florida team would prove to be too much for the NY squad. Coral Springs would walk away with the win 75-60. Jaquan Lynch led for the Orange Wave with 21 points. Thaddeus Hall would contribute 14points.
The upstate Middleton (NY) team slipped behind Monsignor Pace (FL) by the end of the half 41-27. Monsignor kept this win at home defeating Middleton in a 90-75 win. Afonso James led for Middleton with 21 points. Kendrick Ray put up 17points in this loss.
