Nike EYBL - Day 3/Boo Williams

On Sunday, in Hampton Virginia the Boo Williams/NIKE EBYL wrapped up.

One team repped NYC by bringing home the chip in their division while EBYL teams could not buy a win. Here are brief recaps.
17U EBYL NIKE Invitational
Metro Hawks
The Metro Hawks fell in the first game of the day to E1T1 (FL) 69-54. The Metro Hawks never led throughout the contest and ended the half trailing 38-32. Desi Rodriguez led Metro with 15 points. Shaquille Davis finished with 12 points and Isaiah Lewis added 10 points respectfully.
In the second game of the day, the Metro Hawks were slammed by Team Texas Titians (TX) 73-39. Metro Hawks players for the most part scored in single digits across the board. Metro was down by 19 points at the close of the half 39-20. Kyle Menard scored 10 points for Metro while Isaiah Lewis and Shaquille Davis finished with six points apiece.
NY Lightning
NY Lightning remained up by the end of the half over Team United (NC) 62-58 but to only later get hit with a four point loss 62-58. Jason Boswell and Dayshon Smith led in this contest with 14 points apiece. Jon Severe finished with 13 points and Jalen David added 11 points for his team.
The Lightning squad unraveled in the second game of the day and took another loss to Arkansas Wings (AR) 72-51. Arkansas led by ten points at the end of the half 36-26. Dayshon Smith led for the Lightening with 14 points. Jason Boswell and Shikei Blake finished with 10 points apiece.
Albany City Rocks
The upstate NY team would face the events hometown team Boo Williams (VA) just missing the mark in a crushing 62-58 loss. This game came down to the wire and the score knotted three times; then went into double overtime. By the end of the first quarter, the score was tied at 23 and by the half the score was tied at 27. Manny Suarez led for City Rocks with 15 points. Denzel Gregg finished with 14 points and Tyler Mcleod contributed 11 points.
The second go around for the City Rock team would not be pretty with the Southern Stampede (GA) living up to their name and taking out the upstate players 65-41. The Southern Stampede dominated the game and by the end of the half led 31-20. City Rock's Tyler Mcleod led with 15 points and Sterling Taplin and Denzel Gregg both finished with six points.
2012 Boo Williams Day II
16U Team Scan
16U Champions Team Scan would rep New York bringing home the chip defeating the Texas Titans 49-48. Team Scan had four players in double digits Shavar Newkirk, Quincy McKnight, Conrad Chambers and Chris McCullough. An overall team effort would push this team to the win with contributions from Terry Larrier, Kevin Seymour, Kalid Long, Joel Villa, Naim Thomas and Michael Jurzynski. Newkirk took home the MVP title after making the game winning shots at the charity stripe with seven seconds remaining in the game.
16U Unique All Stars
Unique All-Stars out of Long Island, NY finished the weekend with a 3 - 1 record.
The LI team defeated the U Play Canada team 59 -58. Unique's Francisco Williams led with 14 points and Kevione Green added 13 points. Terry Harris finished with 12 points and eight assist while playing the point guard for Unique. Tim McKenzie contributed eight points.
In the fourth match-up Unique All-Stars fell to Ohio Varsity 61 -55. Franscico Williams led with 16 points and eight rebounds. Kevione Green finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Kevin Fere added 12 points and Terry Harris finished with nine assists respectively.
