WHITE PLAINS, NY - On Tuesday, the Bishop Loughlin Lions took the 2015 Westchester County Slam Dunk Tournament crown defeating the Spring Valley Tigers, 67-65.

In the opening quarter, the Lions took over game, scoring at will and jumping out to a 10 point lead. Keith Williams (14pts, 3 assts, 1blk, 1stl) and Markquis Nowell (23pts, 3asst, 1stl) controlled the pace and it appeared to be smooth sailing for the Brooklyn, NY high school.
In the second quarter, crafty guard Marc Dorsainvil (17pts, 3asst, 3stl) and Jy'Quan Boykin (18pts, 2asst, 1stl) would somewhat revive Spring Valley but they were still down, 33-21, at the half.
Four minutes into the third quarter, Spring Valley continued to build momentum. Dorsainvil scored with a floater, capping off an 11-2 run. Suddenly, the Lions were only holding on to a slim two point advantage. Devan Lawson (10pts, 2ast, 1blk) would score off a feed from Michael Maynes (9pts, 1 asst, 3stl) and finally knot the score at, 35.
Nowell, who earned MVP honors, drained a three-pointer followed by a bucket from Jordan Thomas (8pts, 2asst) putting the Lions back up by five but a Boykin three-pointer would help close out the quarter with the game tied once more at, 45.
The Tigers battled throughout the fourth quarter, making the Lions work for each basket, but late foul trouble coupled with squandered opportunities by Spring Valley gave the Lions enough space and pace to control the final minutes of the game, finishing off the Rockland, NY team.
