Landesberg named Mr. NY Basketball

Virginia-bound guard Sylven Landesberg has been named "Mr. New York Basketball" and will be presented the award during the Federation Tournament in Glen Falls, NY.
Landesberg, who led the Holy Cross Knights to its first CHSAA Intersectional Title in 40 years is also the team's all-time leading scorer, eclipsing the 2,000-point mark. The 6'7" guard also averaged 29.4 points per game.

Landesberg will be competing in the McDonald's All-American Game this week along side of fellow New Yorker Kemba Walker of Rice High School in Manhattan, NY. He will then fly back to join his team in Glen Falls to play in the Federation championship game against the winner between Abraham Lincoln and Bishop Maginn High Schools. Landesberg is the first Holy Cross player to be named Mr. New York Basketball since Willie Dersch in 1996.
Earlier in the week, Mt. Vernon's Kevin Jones was named "Mr. Basketball."
