Lamb said he holds offers from Louisville, Rutgers, Georgia Tech and Xavier. Other schools, including UConn, St. John's, Seton Hall and Syracuse, have
expressed interest.
"The whole Big East is going to get involved before the end of the year," Loughlin coach Khalid Green said.
"I want to go to Louisville or Syracuse," said Lamb, who attended last week's Rutgers-Louisville game, won by the Cardinals, at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
Lamb, who may play up for the New York Gauchos 17s team this summer, said his heroes include Penny Hardaway and Carmelo Anthony. He is averaging 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists at Loughlin, currently 10-3 in the CHSAA. Lamb recently poured in 31 points in a victory over Christ the King.
"He's very versatile," Green said. "He can play the one or the two; he sometimes plays the three. He scores at will. He's a great scorer. He knows how to put it in the hole. He's starting to become rebounder and a better defender.
"As far as scoring, I can put him in the category with anybody in the city."
Green believes Lamb can play with anyone, including Lance Stephenson of Lincoln and Erving Walker of Christ the King, who committed to Florida.
Off the court, Green said Lamb is "master of improvisation" who is always making his teammates laugh.
"He's a very fun-loving kid off the court," Green said. "A lot of people don't know that about him. He's the comedian of the team. He's a master of improvisation. He comes up with a new routine that all the kids follow. Anytime there's a light moment, Doron Lamb is in the middle of it."
"But when he comes on the court, he's serious as an assassin."
