L.I. Lutheran Takes Ford in Class A Semis

Long Island Lutheran knocked Bishop Ford out of contention off of excellent shooting and deft passing. The Glen Head, NY team will compete for the Class A finals of the NYS Federation tournament.
The Lutheran Crusaders were led by senior shooting guard Jeriel Henriquez who was blazing from three point range. Lutheran would ultimately pull away late in the fourth quarter to win 77 - 66
The Friday game was close for the first three quarters as Bishop Ford Falcon's star Chaz Williams held it down on the offensive end which gave them the lead going into the fourth as Henriquez went into a brief scoring lull.
In the fourth quarter, however, Henriquez reemerged offensively and was joined by 5'9" senior guard Kevin Johnson the Crusaders would tie the game at 62 with four minutes and change left in regulation.
Utilizing a full court press, Henriquez would intercept a Falcon inbound pass and score a three pointer which would give the Crusaders a three point lead which they would not give back to Bishop Ford.
The 6'2" Jeriel Henriquez would lead all scores with 28 points followed by Kevin Johnson with 22 points. Hofstra-bound Chaz Williams was the high scorer for Bishop Ford with 26 points.
Coach Brian Carey's L.I. Lutheran team will play Jamesville-DeWitt on Saturday at 7:30pm for the Class A championship.
