Jim Couch Super 16 Natl Training Showcase Day 2

BRONX, NY - On Sunday, the action continued at Jim Couch Super 16 National Training Showcase at the Mott Haven Educational Complex in the Bronx, NY. The National Freshman team prove to be more than what was expected playing well beyond their years.
The future is so bright with this National Freshman team on the recruitment horizon. Both teams White and Blue compose of all Class of 2019 players played a fast pace physical match up with White team later rallying back for the win 79-72. White team forward Maxwell Lorca-Lloyd was named MVP of the game. Blue team's 6-9 forward Aidan Igiehon (Lawrence Woodmere Academy, NY) earn the sportsmanship award.

The next match-up the National Sophomore team Red and Blue both beginning with a slow start needed to warm-up to the room. The score would knot by the end of the first quarter at 19pts. However, in the final quarter the Red squad dominated the game capturing the lead and win, 96-80. Red teams 6-2 170lb guard Jalen Carey (Dwight Englewood HS, NJ) earn the MVP title and Blue team 6-7 Boubacar Diakite (Our Savior New America, NY) took the sportsmanship award.
The third game of the day featured more of a rivalry type of match-up with NYC/NJ (Red) vs. Long Island/CT (Blue). The Blue team dominated the Red team down to the wire finishing, 94-87. Blue team's MVP was 6-7 RheaquoneTaylor (Barringer HS, NJ) and Red team CJ Kelly (Queens High School of Teaching, NY) took home the sportsmanship award.
Final game of the event featured Lee Academy vs. the International team. The international team took the win, 75-73 naming Alpha Diallo MVP.
