iS8/Nike T.O.C. Sunday
BROOKLYN, NY - For the first time, the iS8/Nike Fall Tip-Off Classic pool play games were held at Nazareth Regional High School.

There were seven games throughout the day. Some were competitive; others were almost painful to watch. NYCHoops.net was there for the weekend wrap up.
Brooklyn Badgers overthrow King Street Kings, 69-62
The Badgers came out the box with an 8-0 run and it looked as if that was a glimpse to an impending blowout but Kings Street, a team from South Orange, NJ decided to deal with the present.
After pulling to within a point to start the second quarter, the Kings took the lead with 6:34 left in the half as Alfonso Hamilton (4 points) scored in transition.
The Badgers, primarily a combination of players from Thomas Jefferson Campus and South Shore HS, would slowly begin to come together as a team. Buckets by 6'5" Jermoine Faison (Jefferson) and a 3-ball by Devyn Wilson (7 points) would regain the lead. At the half, the Kings were suddenly in a 38-29 hole.
Perimeter shots by Eddie Dominquez (17 points) would cut into the Badgers lead as the NJ squad began to beat the Badgers in hustle points. Aggressive play on both ends of the court by Faison (19 points) and Shamiek Sheppard (13 points) would keep the Badgers out in front but clutch shots by Dominquez, a junior at St. Anthony (NJ) and Chima Ekekeugbor (10 points), a junior from CBA, would slice that lead down to 2 points to begin the fourth.
Once again, the Badgers extended the lead to 6 points but their poor clock management coupled with good clock management by the Kings left the Brooklyn team with only a 3 point advantage with 19 seconds left in regulation. Luckily for the Badgers, their foul shooting in the final moments was stellar.
Team Underrated puts Team Dream to Sleep, 59-49
Point guard Tayvon Evers came out all business as back-to-back jumpers kept Team Dream's dream alive. Solid play down low by Kyle Williams (11 points) and a line drive jumper by Archbishop Molloy junior, Chaz Watler (13 points) would quickly turn that dream on hold.
Down by two points to start the second quarter, Niehdas Esabi (4 points) and Evers would put Team Dream back on top but Claude Payne III (8 points), a 6'5" wing from South Plains HS, would enter the game inject some energy for Team Underrated. Another jumper by Watler, and the game was knotted at 23.
Evers, a senior point guard at Murry Bergtraum, turned out to be an uncontainable problem for Underrated and sparked a 6-0 run. Team Dream would take a 29-25 lead into the third quarter.
Alex Williams (10 points) and Nathan Feiertog (8 points), Erasmus HS (LeHigh Valley) junior, would have a strong quarter and the momentum would begin to shift. A pass from Mike Simon (2 points) to Payne for the breakaway dunk would take Team Underrated into the final quarter, up by nine.
K. Williams would finish off the game with his third and fourth dunk as Team Underrated walked away with a 10 point win.
United Brooklyn dismantles King Street Kings, 72-47
A slow start would lead to a strong finish. It would be a low scoring event for the first six minute. UA would only be ahead 8-4 against a NJ team that wanted to rebound from an earlier loss. A 9-2 run by United Brooklyn would quickly squash that possibility.
Down 17-6 at the end of a quarter, Isaiah Whitehead (10 points) and his cousin Tyler Whitehead (10 points) from Bayside HS would extend UA's lead to 21-6 with seven minutes left in the half. Additional offense by Taquan Givens (13 points) would put United Brooklyn comfortably ahead, 38-15 at the half.
The game would get progressively worse for the Kings as their deficit grew to 31 point midway through the fourth quarter. Other than a team high 12 points from wide body Abdul Hill, a junior from Columbia HS, who worked hard in the paint and a nice coast-to-coast by David Runcie (8 points), it was a forgettable game for the Kings.
The refs agreed and ended the game early, imposing the mercy rule.
