Girls: The evolution of Natalija Marshall

Having long been considered to be among the top recruits in the country in the Class of 2020, 6'5" forward Natalija Marshall (Christ the King '20) has continued to go out and prove not just her talents, but her versatility and desire to want to always be getting better.

Her game has continued to grow and evolve over just the past few months as well as she is not only coveted by some of the top Division 1 college programs in the country, but on the verge of leading her Royals team to be the very best team in New York State this season.

It's the growth as an overall weapon that has stood out about Marshall's game throughout this season as she has always had size on her side, but now there has been a growth to stretch out and show that she is and can be a dominant face up threat as well.

"She is shooting the three more to add that dimension into her game and I think she will show her range and that versatility even more this spring," Thomas Davis, her AAU coach with Exodus NYC said.

The major thing with Marshall in Davis' eyes is that you don't generalize her into a position. She is 6'5" but has a knock down jump shot from 15 feet and out now so you can send her outside and know she can be a mismatch out on the outside, while also knowing that when she is in the paint it is near impossible to contain her once she gets her hands on the ball around the rim.

That's just what Marshall does on the offensive side as on the defensive end she has been a double-digit rebounder per game for Christ the King this season, while also being someone who alters shots and makes lives difficult for many of the top players she goes against on a regular basis.

At this point Marshall hasn't narrowed a final list per say according to Davis but she has limited herself to the number of teams she is talking to. UConn, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Duke are four of the teams that Davis listed that Marshall talks to on a frequent basis, with visits possibly to come in April or May to those schools as well.

Once those visits are done Davis feels that Marshall could narrow things down or she may open things up more depending on how she feels, but whatever happens he knows that the best is still to come for Marshall who isn't your prototypical interior weapon, but someone who can truly do so much more.

"She isn't your typical post player at all," Davis said. "I just call her a little unicorn because she really is very special."
