Gauchos Fall Short to First at MDC

The NY Gauchos of Bronx would steamroll through the Nike Memorial Day Classic in Tennessee but Coach Mo Hicks' team would fall one point short of the chip.
"Doron Lamb and Durand Scott have been killin'" according to Coach Hicks. Each has been averaging about 24pts.
The NYCHoops #4 ranked Gauchos ended pool play with a 3-0 record after defeating the St. Louis Eagles 65-55.
The #6 ranked MetroHawks would play against NY Gauchos in the first round of the playoffs but lose to them 73-44.
The Gauchos, who were still undefeated, would advance to the semifinals after defeating the Illinois Warriors 76-73.
The Gauchos played the Houston Hoop 10 defeating them 76-71 in order to advance to the finals.
In the championship, the Gauchos played Athletes First of Oklahoma City, OK who defeated the Wisconsin Elite in the semifinals.
Xavier Henry, The No. 2 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, who was impressive throughout the tournament with his relentless attacking of the basket would lead Athletes First.
Lamb and Scott ,who led the Gauchos throughout the tournament, fought hard but came one point short in the championship game, losing 70-71. Sean Johnson would lead the Gauchos however with 24 points
The Gaucho would end up with an impressive 6-1 record.
