JAMAICA, NY - Kennedy came into the Bronx Borough Championship game with a 6 game losing streak to Wings Academy over the last two years.

This year was the year they were able to reverse that trend and end Wings dominance over them. Kennedy was able to take the lead late in the game with a big time inside move by Muhammed Ahmed. The basket gave Kennedy the lead. The final 59-54 margin of victory came courtesy of a technical foul given to Wings for calling a time out when they didn't have any.
Wings almost pulled it out late. Ahmed had a dunk that put Kennedy up 49-41 with a little over 4 minutes left in the game. Wings was able to mount a comeback and actually tied the game at 51 after Justin Jenkins nailed a three pointer while getting fouled. He wasn't able to complete the 4 point play and Kennedy senior guard David Hardy was able to make two free throws to put his team on top.
Wings answered and took the lead when Marvilio Berroa made a wide open three to give Wings a 54-53 lead. That was when Ahmed went to work in the paint and made the basket for the win. But the confidence to comeback began before the shot when they were in the huddle on the sideline. Ahmed said he told his teammates to keep their head because the game was not over.
Ahmed was asked what the plan on that last possession was.
"They said give it to the open man. I was open so I took the shot" Ahmed said.
Kennedy ended their 6 game losing streak to Wings and won the Bronx championship on the same day. The Knights had lost the last game to Wings on a last second shot and they were proud that they were able to come back. Ahmed learned something about himself and his teammates with the victory.
"We saw that we could finish last minute when we're down, and we never give up until the clock is over."
