In 2007, Telfair was charged with felony possession of a weapon and pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon, receiving three years probation. On Friday, Telfair's younger brother may be following that same path.
According to the NY Daily News, "Ethan Telfair, 16, had three loaded guns on him when he was picked up Friday night at the O'Dwyer Gardens houses in Coney Island, the sources said.
Telfair, a sophomore point guard at Abraham Lincoln High School (Brookloyn, NY), allegedly offered the cop cash in exchange for letting him go, the sources said.
Also arrested were his Lincoln teammate, Shaquille Davis, 17; McEaddy Jones, 21; Damian Hernandez, 19, and Marquis Tillery, 16, a sophomore on Lincoln's junior varsity basketball team. All were taken to Brooklyn's 60th Precinct stationhouse.
Telfair and Jones face felony criminal possession of a weapon and bribery charges, while Davis, Hernandez and Tillery face only the weapon charge."
NYCHoops.net has learned that Telfair was released from jail, Sunday evening.
