Unsigned Hype Top Performers

BROOKLYN, NY - As the spring/summer season begins to heat up, there are only a few more opportunities for seniors to show their wares to D-1, D-2, D-3 and JUCO coaches. The Unsigned Hype Seniors Games at Westinghouse HS is one such opportunity. Here were the top performers of Friday’s games.


GAME ONE

Ronald Jefferson – The 6’2” underexposed guard from Christ the King HS displayed his skills during the first game. After a slow start, Jefferson kept at it and scored hustle points before his scoring stats began to kick in. With a solid perimeter game and a strong attack at the rim, Jefferson eventually played well enough to earn MVP honors with 17 points

Emmanuel Egbuta – A 6’5”/210lb, the small forward from Westside HS was a beast inside. Extremely athletic, Egbuta plays an aggressive inside game, scoring 13 points and multiple rebounds.

Baron Goodridge (6’0”/Cardinal Hayes) 9 points

Jamir Cheek (6’1”/Boys & Girls HS) 11 points

Najee Scott (6’4”/Boys & Girls HS) 17 points

DeAndre Lamb (6’3”/Seward Park HS) 7 points


GAME TWO

Isaiah Deas ‘15 – The 6’7” small forward who now played with Coastal Academy (2015-16) was prolific offensively and was especially hot from the perimeter. Deas earned MVP honors leading his team to a 107-101 overtime win in game #2, netting 23 points.

Gerald Williams –A 6’4” bruiser from Westinghouse HS, Williams used his home court advantage to dominate primarily in the paint. Serving up facials as well as showing some perimeter skills, the big guard was a hard guard, scoring an event high 26 points.

Obadiah Toppin – The 6’7” wing/forward from Ossining HS was a virtual unknown before playing in the Unsigned Hype games. Toppin made his presence felt as he put his perimeter skill set on blast. Ion addition an outside game, the wing also showed crafty footwork in the paint. Toppin dropped 26 points.

Jeremy Betjol (6’7”/Bishop Loughlin) 10 points, 10 rebounds

Gianni Ford (6’1”/Boys & Girls HS) 21 points

Lenny Kadisha ’15 (6’4”/Graduated Wadleigh) 14 points

Fatir Hines (6’8”/The Patrick School) 8 points
