The inaugural Hype City VIII H.S. Preseason single-elimination Tournament is taking place on September 9th and 10th at South Shore High School in Brooklyn NY.
First Annual “Hype City VIII” Kicks Off High School Basketball with Elite Tournament and Freshman Rising Stars Game
Brooklyn, NY is gearing up for the first annual "Hype City VIII" boys high school basketball tournament and Sunday's much anticipated “Hype City Rising Stars Game". The event will take place Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th at South Shore High School (6565 Flatlands Ave. Broolyn, NY 11236) with games beginning at 9a.m.
Hype City VIII is set to deliver a weekend of premier high school hoops featuring 8 teams- 4 public schools and 4 private schools from the NYC/NJ area. The competitive lineup consists of: Cardinal Hayes, Abraham Lincoln, St. Raymond's, Benjamin Cardozo, Scanlan, Thomas Jefferson, Iona Prep and South Shore. "This inaugural tournament will serve as an early evaluator of what is to be expected in the upcoming high school basketball season, as well as a preseason look at future D1 scholarship athletes" said, Shabar Ewing- Event Director.The "Rising Stars Game", will be a glimpse of the vast amount of 2021 talent coming into the already talent laden Northeast. Hype City VIII will allow these athletes the platform to grow and showcase their skill sets as they enter into the high school season.” said, Jay David- Event Director
Hype City is dedicated to supporting the basketball community in times of need. A portion of event proceeds will go to assisting families who have endured the devastating hurricane in Houston. Donations will also be accepted on behalf of our initiative to support and lend a hand to our family in the South.
