In the second game of Frank Gugliotta Tournament, a far superior Walt Whitman Wildcats, who also happened to be the host team, faced off against the Smithtown Bulls. Moments after the game began it was already foregone conclusion as Whitman defeated Smithtown easily by the score of 54 – 33 on Wednesday.

The Wildcats are an undersized team whose best shooting guard/small forward, Kyheem Green, was relegated to playing the center position because he is the teams tallest player. Because of this situation, one never gets to see the full potential of Green as he primarily gets the ball with his back to the basket or off the offensive or defensive boards.
Even still, Green was one of the few bright spots to a rather lopsided and unimpressive game as he clearly on another skill level then anyone on the court.
The unranked Smithtown Bulls could fundamentally play the game of basketball but simply didn't have the raw talent to compete with Walt Whitman High School of Huntington Station, NY. The Wildcats, who are currently NYCHoops Long Island #2 ranked team did not play one of their better games as their shooting percentage and execution were clearly off.
The first half of the game was sloppy for both teams however 6'5" senior center Kyheem Green and 6'1" senior guard Hanif Malloy were effective and did the majority of the scoring for the Wildcats. 6'2" junior forward Matt Stillitano did offer some offense for Smithtown but it was not enough as Whitman's lead swelled to 24 – 14 by the half with Greene scoring almost half of the Wildcat points.
The third quarter was more of the same as Greene became more of a shot blocker while Malloy and teammate C.J. Humphries stepped up the scoring attack. The third quarter ended with the score 40 – 25.
In the fourth quarter it was obvious that this game was over and with 3:55 left in the game and with the score at 40 – 25, Wildcat Coach Tom Fitzpatrick subbed out his starters. The final score 54 – 33 in favor of Walt Whitman. Kyheem Green was the high scorer for The Wildcats with 12 points while Malloy added 11 points. Matt Stillitano was high man for The Bulls with 10 points.
This win increased Walt Whitman's undefeated record to 5 – 0.
Walt Whitman will face off against the #9 ranked Uniondale in the championship game which should be a exciting more exciting game.
