BRONX, NY - It was a long but entertaining offense-driven evening of basketball at the Gauchos Gym on Saturday for the 5th annual Big Strick Classic.

Packed to the rafters, four teams faced off, first in a regional game, followed by NYC versus the USA. The games were played in memory of streetball legend John "Franchise" Strickland.
The opening regional game would set the tone as a high scoring spectacle that ended in a 133-117 blowout. Louis King earned MVP honors netting 15 points. Nate Wilson however scored a team high 20 points and Jalen Carey dropping 17 points. In a losing effort, Melo Eggleston scored a game high 25 points with Justin Winston adding 22 points.
A record would be broken in the NYC vs. USA national game as Michigan native, Josh Jackson vaulted Team USA to a 159-137 with jaw-dropping 50 points. Jackson had 37 points going into the forth. The 2016 star ended with a double-double as he added 16 rebounds to his total.
Billy Preston added 28 points with slam dunk contest winner Edrice Adebayo contributing 24 points.
Team NYC was led by 3-point contest victor Myles Powell who netted 28 points with Queens, NY native Trevon Duval contributing 20 points.
During the half time of the national game, the Big Strick Classic gave it first Hall of Fame awards to Kentucky bound Isaiah Briscoe and Seton Hall's Isaiah Whitehead.
