Here are brief recaps for NY Lightning, Team Scan and Albany City Rocks for Sunday.
NY Lightning strikes Georgia Stars (GA), 75-64
After falling behind by six in the first half, the NY Lightning came to life behind Khadeen Carrington's 24 points off of 7-10 shooting and hits 2-3 treys. Luis Montero did a good job on the defensive boards with 10 rebounds to go with 14 points. Angel Delgado also had a solid game with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Tadric Jackson led the Stars with 15 points.
The Lightning are tied for third place in their division with an overall record of 8-5.
Mokan Elite (KS) jams Team Scan, 65-54
Although Team Scan held a slight lead going into the second half, they allowed the Kansas squad too many second chance opportunities. In addition, the Elite came at them with multiple scoring options off of turnovers.
Cheick Diallo has been a double-double machine throughout the tournament closing out with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Shavar Newkirk held his own with 12 points and 2 assists but four of the Mokan Elite were in double figure led by Lourawls Nairn and Charlie Brown with 13 apiece.
Team Scan is tied for 4th place in their division with an overall record of 9-4.
Expression Elite (MA) pounds Albany City Rocks, 80-63
It was a bad weekend for the City Rocks that ended the same as it started. The Massachusetts team put on a clinic and led at the half by 18 as guard Dimitri Floras's 9 assists set the table for teammates including Jared Terrell (23 points, 9 rebounds) and Jared Wilson-Frame (14 points, 6 assists)
The City Rocks got decent game from Keith Pinckney who had 13 points and 5 rebounds but 38% shooting as team resulted in a 17 point loss and sole possession last place in their division with an overall record of 3-10
The final weekend of the regular season provides the most drama in one of the major basketball facilities in the U.S. Only 24 teams will qualify from the regular season to go on to the EYBL Finals at the NIKE Peach Jam so there are many critical games. Session #4 will take place on May 24-27 at the High Performance Academy in Eagan, MN
