NIA Preps for the iS8/Nike playoffs

SOUTH JAMAICA, NY - Friday's game at the iS8/Nike between NIA Prep and the Brooklyn Badgers would end up being a solo event.
In the opening game, Starret City would forfeit against the Long Island Lightning. The Badgers probably should have done the same as head coach Rudy King and undefeated NIA Prep basically used them as a tune-up on the way to an 85-52 win to clinch their pool.

The Badgers walked into the gym with the appropriate swagger and for the first few moments of the game they appeared to be ready to throw down. After a 12-2 run facilitated by Kelvin Amayo and Ryan Rhoomes, NIA Prep took control early.
Ahead by seven points at the end of the first quarter Amayo and Deon Maddox would bump NIA Preps lead to double digits midway through the second quarter. A 3-ball by Dondre' Jackson and a dunk by Shaquille Thomas and the Badgers were in a 51-37 hole at the half.
The lead ballooned to twenty-two points by the end of the third quarter leading to a NIA Prep dunkfest in the fourth quarter with Thomas as the predominant finisher.
The game ended up being nothing more than a lay-up line for the New Jersey squad on their way to a convincing thirty-three point crunch.
Thomas led all scorers with 31 points followed by Amayo with 16 points.
