New York Hosts 10th Anniversary Elite 24

BROOKLYN, NY - Ten years later, Elite 24 a high energy three day event which climaxed on Saturday blasting its way through the New York skyline with the Brooklyn Bridge as its backdrop.
Through humble beginnings, the event began as the boost mobile Elite 24. Later, the event partnered with Under Armor and the rest is history.

One of Elite 24 first invitee's and all time leading assist scorer Brandon "Doo Be Doo" Jennings who spoke to NYCHoops.net saying, "It's crazy, I definitely didn't think it'd get this far. The fact that it's now the ten year anniversary, it seems like it was just yesterday, we [were] at Rucker Park hooping as kids. And now we are in Brooklyn and kids are hooping with the city skyline in the back, so it's crazy."
Team Doo Be Doo rallied back in the second half against Team EZ Pass in the final minutes of the game to take the win, 111-110. Doo Be Doo MVP Edrice "Bam" Adebayo finished with 21 points, eight rebounds with Billy Preston adding 16 points, 10 rebounds. Team EZ Pass co-MVP Josh Jackson finished with 12pts, 7 rebounds while Frank Jackson tallied 20 points, three assists.
The energy in the crowd was on high, showing much love to their fellow NY'ers Rawle Alkins (14pts, four assist), Trevon Duval (8pts, nine assists) Shamorie Ponds (15pts, five assists), and Hamidou Diallo (9pts, 7rebounds) every time they had the ball in their hands.
During the first half, Duval a Queens, NY native on Team EZ Pass lit up the boards with steals and driving straight to the hole. Alkins barreled through defenders with his college-ready body, scoring up and under. Late in the first half, Diallo scored off assist from teammate T.J. Leaf.
In the second half, Diallo with his long lanky body was able to creep by defenders to finish with the alley-oop. Ponds warmed up late in the game, completing a two hand jam to the basket, scoring most of his points late in the game.
Amongst the 35 NBA scouts scattered throughout the crowd spotted were notables: Golden State Warriors (Lamont Peterson), Indiana Pacers (Jason Buckner) and New Jersey Nets (Khalid Green).
