New Heights-Blue win EOS 16U Platinum

READING, PA - With Mo Cassara from Hofstra, Fred Hoiberg from Iowa State, Jamie Dixon from Pitt and other top colleges checking out the games from the sidelines, New Heights-Blue would capture the End of Summer Classic 16U Platinum championship.
The open round game would be against New York rival, Juice All-Stars would led early in the first half with a solid effort from 6'2" guard Keith Williams (11 points) from Deer Park. Shamiek Sheppard (13 points) from South Shore along with NIA Prep's new arrival Jordan Washington (12 points) would prove to be too much in the end as Juice went down and New Heights advanced, 61-45.

New Heights received a boost from Cardinal Hayes' 6'7" forward Jalen Jenkins and 5'10" guard Teyvon Meyers who added 11 points each. Meyers, who attended Boys & Girls HS last season told NYCHoops.net that he will be playing in CA next season.
New Heights-Blue would advance into the championship round after beating Team Philly and would face a tough Jersey Shore Warriors squad. The Warriors got to the chip, taking down Baltimore Elite followed by PTP/East Coast Elite.
Utilizing sharp ball movement, drive to the hoop by 6'2" Amar Stukes (21 points) and deadeye perimeter shooting by 6'7" Stephen Smith (15 points) and 6'4" Kyle Green (25 points), the JS Warriors led at the half, 33-29. Washington (21 points) and Sheppard (14 points) would counter, orchestrating a quick 7-0 run that turned the tide in New Heights' favor.
The Warrior would tie the game at 61 with 5 minutes remaining and again at 65 with 3:08 left in regulation but good ball management by Terrence Samuel (6 points) down the stretch would all but put a lid on the platinum chip. A turnover and basket by Jenkins (19 points) with 57 seconds left would seal that lid tight, 76-67 as New Height became the last team standing.
In other action, the NJ Playaz Club would win the 17U platinum chip defeating the New Heights 17U team in triple overtime, 64-63.
