After a heads-turning Peach Jam performance in which he surfaced as one of the most prolific scoring threats throughout, Class of 2026 PSA Cardinals guard Dylan Mingo continues to garner offers.
On Monday, Mingo picked up an offer from St. John’s University. A hard-driving guard, Mingo is currently at Long Island Lutheran. The reigning NY Federation Champions, a national power program containing plenty of high major talent. The young, multi-layered Mingo has been a revelation as an effective off the dribble scorer with a blossoming catch-and-shoot game.
Under newly minted head coach Rick Pitino, the Red Storm have been aggressively recruiting young prospects from the New York area. Recently offered scholarships to Brooklyn native and 2026 Blair Academy (NJ) guard Deron Rippey, 2025 Manhattan native and 6-foot-11 forward Jack Bailey of Blair, and 6-foot-3 Class of 2026 upstate guard Jordan Skyers of Our Savior Lutheran in the Bronx.
Mingo opened up Peach Jam with a loud performance, as he scored 25 points on the strength of 9-for-12 from the field to help pioneer the Cardinals to a victory over the Florida Rebels.
Mingo wound up as one of the most proficient all around scorers in the event in 15U action. He authored efficiency, shooting 27-for-57 from the floor. He adds St. John’s to a growing offer sheet, as both Washington and Virginia Tech offered him last week. Mingo holds additional offers from Norfolk State and Charleston. Mingo has also been receiving interest from Long Island University-Brooklyn and Florida Gulf Coast University.
Mingo has thrived as a scorer, utilizing his vaunted first step and knack for knifing to the rim. He has been a consistent source in exploiting mismatches, simultaneously gaining confidence in his shooting touch. He envisions himself as a 3-and-D caliber player at Long Island Lutheran under John Buck next season.
