Five-star Moses Brown pledges to UCLA

Five-star Moses Brown, the top center prospect available this winter, committed to UCLA on Monday.. A 7-footer hailing from New York, Brown is a mobile center with loads of upside, a prospect that is a giant pick-up for the Bruins.

"UCLA is a really good school, I love their campus,” he said. “I like the conference that they are in. Just about the same as any other school I'm going go there and develop my game and see if I'm ready for the next level."

Named a McDonald’s All-American last week, Brown has remained a five-star prospect since his underclassmen years. Brown, when engaged and competing, is one of the very best in his class, someone that can flourish in an up-and-down system in Westwood thanks to his mobility and ability to get up and down the court whenever speed of the game picks up.

Brown selected the Bruins over Florida State, Kentucky, and Maryland.

UCLA is facing a giant void in the frontcourt with the upcoming departure of four-star stalwart Thomas Welsh, along with the graduation of Gyorgy Goloman. Having already secured the commitment of bruising and defensively inclined center Kenneth Nwuba, Brown should complement his fellow 2018 big thanks to his much more polished offensive game.

The Bruins’ fourth commitment in the 2018 class, Brown and Nwuba will be joined by the offensively potent Rivals150 duo of David Singleton and Jules Bernard. UCLA remains on the market for a lead guard prospect this winter as they will host four-star guard Tyger Campbell this weekend, and will bring Courtney Ramey, a top-50 guard, to campus next month.
