Christ the King Tops LuHi; Wins 4th Stop DWI Tourny

NYCHoops.net #4 ranked Christ the King Royals (6-1) won its fourth Mirabito STOP-DWI Holiday Classic National division championship on Monday, defeating Long Island's #1 ranked L.I. Lutheran Crusaders (8-1), 56-53.

"[This win was] very important because we didn't look tough leaving New York," said Royals Head Coach Joe Arbitello after the game. "[We] took some big steps.
Tournament MVP Travis Atson led Christ the King with 17 points & 3 rebounds with Rawle Alkins adding 16 points & 13 rebounds. Devonte Green was high man for L.I. Lutheran with 15 points & 7 rebounds with Chris Atkinson and Marvin Prochet adding 11 points each.
Christ the King's Adonis Dela Rosa and Alkins were named to the All-Tournament Team along with Green & Atkinson from LuHi. Atson, a 6'4" junior, also received individual accolades with the second highest overall scoring average in the National division at 20 points per game.
For the Crusaders, who also lost to Christ the King last season during the New York State Class AA championship, this was their first loss of this season.
