Brooklyn SG shoots for record @ SNY

On Friday, the Boys & Girls Kangaroos will play the Rice Raiders during the opening day of the SNY Invitational at Long Island Universities Brooklyn Campus.
While the event itself has garnered its share of interest, it could even be a bigger night for Roo's shooting guard, Mike Taylor. The Rutgers-bound senior is but a few of his patented three-pointers away from being etched in the school's history books.

"Mike needs 12 points to surpass 1000 points in his career," said Boys & Girls assistant coach Elmer Anderson. "[In the past] we haven't kept track of things like that so I decided to look at the books and found out he's almost there."
Taylor is a prolific scorer and last season led the Kangaroos to their first PSAL City championship. This season, as the #2 ranked Boys & Girls squad looks to defend their throne, Taylor has thus far averaged 18.1 points and 6 rebounds.
Anderson believes other Kangaroos alumni were in the scoring ballpark with Taylor. "Clayton Sterling was close," says Anderson but continued that if the SG stays on track then Friday or at the latest, Saturday, the deed will "officially" have been done.
"Mike is an incredible scorer. I am happy for him," said Anderson.
