Having done a commendable job raising his profile on the AAU circuit, 6-foot-3 upstate New York guard Jordan "Sky High" Skyers added a high major offer to his growing list. Oklahoma State, coached by New York City native Mike Boynton, offered Skyers this week.

The Class of 2026 guard who recently transferred to Bronx-based Independent power Our Savior Lutheran. Skyers adds the offer to a list that includes Rhode Island, St. John’s, Long Island University-Brooklyn, and Norfolk State. A combination guard buoyed by a flashy handle, Skyers has developed an all-around scoring mentality. He brings rare, freakish athleticism at his age, as the rising sophomore levitates above the rim with relative ease. The considerable burst in his game has been noteworthy this summer, as he has provided scoring and boundless two-way energy while playing two years up with the Riverside Hawks.

Oklahoma State registered an overall record of 20-16 during the 2022-23 campaign. The Cowboys mustered an 8-10 record in conference play. However, they wound up culminating the season with an overtime NIT loss to North Texas. They registered previous victories over Youngstown State and Eastern Washington during the NIT.

Skyers is starting to blossom as a creative point guard who can engineer an offensive attack and score it in a variety of ways. He should be pressed into immediate action at OSL, which will look to fill the void left by Ty-Laur Johnson (Louisville). Johnson, a 6-foot-1 Bed-Stuy native, was a high-octane point guard with a flair for the big shot and multiple games of 20 plus points and nine assists or more.

While Skyers will play for a guy who has groomed a steady crop of Division-I talent in Pete Wehye at OSL. He has an exalted figure in NYC basketball in Dermon Player currently pushing his development with the Riverside Hawks.

“I really love the way Coach (Player) has been teaching me. Coach really doesn’t care if you came in averaging 30 points or if you are a top-ranked guy. It does not matter who you are. If you don’t play defense, he will sit you. His discipline and the accountability of his system, that is the number one reason why coach is really important to me and my growth on the court.” Skyers said.
