Guard, Justin Newton spearheads the Poly Prep attack and is probably a low DI prospect.
12:45pm - Pennsbury (PA) vs. Wadleigh (Manhattan) - Pennsbury's junior star, Dalton Pepper will lead his team into the Big Apple with a reputation as a scorer and deep three-point shooter. He's being heavily courted by several Big East schools and will probably finish his career as Pennsbury's all-time leading scorer. Wadleigh's 6'5 Curtis Loving is one of the better athlete's in New York City and 6'3 guard, William Harrison is a tough player as well.
2:30pm - White Plains (NY) vs. Canarsie (Brooklyn) - Senior wing guard, Sean Kilpatrick is having a great year for White Plains. After recently scoring 33 points versus Mount Vernon, Kilpatrick boasts offers from St. John's and several other high profile programs. His backcourt mate, Ra'Shad James is also an effective and athletic guard. Canarsie's wing guard, Yves Jules has committed to Hofstra and 6'7 forward, Elon Howard is beginning to get Division I looks.
4:15pm - Apex (NJ) vs. Hun (NJ) - Twins, Marcus Morris and Markieff Morris are a tough tandem to handle. Both brothers are headed to Kansas next year as marquee recruits.
Marcus 6'7 is more perimeter oriented, while Markieff (6'8) has more of an inside presence. The Hun School has its own high profile Division I forward. Lance Goulbourne, a Brooklyn native, has committed to Vanderbilt and is also Hun's #1 ranked tennis player!
6pm - San Diego (CA) vs. New London (CT) - This game features two of the nation's elite big men. San Diego 6'10 sophomore stud, Jeremy Tyler, tabbed as the #1 sophomore nationally will face off against Connecticut 6'8 forward, Allan Chaney - headed to Florida! According to high school basketball evaluator, Tom Konchalski, Chaney was "the biggest sleeper in the east during the summer and came out of nowhere" to earn a scholarship to play for Billy Donovan. In last year's BAB Invitational, Tyler posted 25 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks versus local power Holy Cross.
7:45pm - Archbishop Carroll (DC) vs. Benjamin Cardozo (Queens) - Archbishop Carroll represents DC well, with a loaded squad and two marquee players. They're led by 6'7 wing scorer Kris Joseph (committed to Syracuse) and 6'4 junior, Rodney McGruder (Kansas St.), who some consider Carroll's best player! McGruder is known as a tough, physical player who attacks the basket extremely well. Cardozo features Iona point guard commit, Trinity Fields. Fields will have his hands full running a Cardozo team with nine new players this season.
MONDAY, JANUARY 21 @ BARUCH COLLEGE
11am - Hills West (Long Island) vs. All Hallows (Bronx) - A battle of some of the premier sophomores in the metropolitan area. Hills West is led by 6'7 10th grader Tobias Harris, who Konchalski says "has a world of talent, lots of skills and a good touch". He is already Hills West's all-time leading scorer. For All Hallows, they are paced by sophomores Devon Collier (6'7) and Shane Southwell (6'6).
12:45pm - San Diego (CA) vs. Benjamin Cardozo (Queens) - Both teams return for their second day of action in the BAB Invitational on Monday. Cardozo will have to find a way to stop 6'10 Jeremy Tyler, while San Diego will try to slow down Cardozo's guard play, featuring Trinity Fields.
2:30pm - Queen of Peace (NJ) vs. Boys and Girls (Brooklyn) - Bilal Dixon makes Queen of Peace go. The 6'9 senior, headed to Providence is a strong, physical player who will be more than capable of handling the strength of the Boys and Girls frontline.
Prior to starring at Queen of Peace, Dixon attended St. Anthony (NJ) under the tutelage of legendary coach, Bob Hurley. Boys and Girls features a slew of Division I talent, led by wing, Patrick Jackson (Rutgers). Jackson and Dixon are good friends and play together during the summer!
4:15pm - Notre Dame Prep (MA) vs. Blair (NJ) - Where do you start with the talent on Notre Dame Prep's roster? As many as seven Division I commits - led by Top 10 player nationally, Terrence Jennings (6'11, Louisville). Prep has some local talent in Melquan Bolding (Louisville) and James Southerland (Syracuse). Blair also has plenty of talent on its roster, with shooting guard Jarrett Mann (Stanford), who has an excellent mid-range game. 6'8 forward, Alex Vouyoukas is headed to Davidson and 6'8 senior, Austin Johnson who according to Konchalski, "has really improved and is a mid-major (Division I) player."
6pm - American Christian (PA) vs. St. Thomas More (CT) - The marquee matchup of the event! American Christian has a lot of talent and are very deep.
Led by the nation's #1 player, Tyreke Evans fills up the stat sheet with plenty of points. "He gets to the basket on balance, sees the game, is a good passer and very talented," said Konchalski. His backcourt mates feature Chicago native, Jeremiah Kelly (6'1, DePaul) and Lamont Jones (junior, Louisville). Not to be outdone, St. Thomas More has Top 10 player nationally, Devin Ebanks. Ebanks is a versatile 6'9 forward committed to Indiana who some compare his style of play to Kevin Durant. "Ebanks is one of the best forwards in the country. He's a greyhound who covers ground and is a scorer," Konchalski added. Brooklyn native, Quasim Pugh runs the show for STM and he's headed to play for the legendary Bobby Cremins at The College of Charleston. Forward T.J. Robinson is also a mid-major player.
