Unfinished Business for McDAA Whitehead

CHICAGO, IL - On Wednesday, Isaiah Whitehead got a chance to participate in his dream, the McDonald's All-American Game for the East squad.

Shortly after his team lost to the West, 105-102, the Seton Hall bound guard posted on his Facebook page, "I didn't play like I wished but hey it happens."

The normally prolific Whitehead scored only 6 points, shooting 2 of 5 from the field and 0 of 1 from three-point range. The senior was 2 for 2 from the charity stripe and added two defensive rebounds to his overall stat sheet. The majority of Whitehead's work was done in the first half

Only committing one turnover, one could make a strong argument that Whitehead should have received more than nine minutes of play. Other scoring guards who had worse field goal percentages received more minutes. However, the counter might be that every other guard on the team except Whitehead notched at least one assist.

Nonetheless, Whitehead maximized the minutes that he played on the court as well as what he did off the court throughout the week. "It was a great experience," he said."Not just the game but being with a great group of guys and going to the Ronald McDonald House. It was just a lot of fun."

Whitehead said that the most surprising element was the crowd in the arena. "There was a lot of people [at the United Center] just to support us and watch us play." 17,116 to be exact.

Out of all the All-star games that Whitehead had been in, he said that the McDonald's All-American Game was the "most memorable and most amazing."

While on the court, Whitehead admitted that he didn't have his best game he wrote on Facebook is intention to redeem himself posting, "Jordan Brand Classic Up Next Tho April 18th In The Barclays #WATCHMEWORK".

The Jordan Brand Classic will be the last All-Star Game for Whitehead before he's off to college and it's held in Brooklyn where he lives. Many of the players who participated in the McDonald's All-Star Game will also be present. Expect retribution.
