The AAU season is officially over and the high school season has not yet begun.
Starting mid-September there are five pre-high school tournaments we focus on to help determine and complete our upcoming pre-season high school team and player rankings.
iS8/Nike Fall Tip-Off Classic
A tournament with a 40+ history, it had long been considered one of the elite tournaments on NY and is now one of the largest. The event run by Pete Edwards usually features up to 60 NY and out-of-state high school and AAU/Travel teams. The iS8 is normally held at various locations including intermediate school #8 located in South Jamaica, NY. The format is pool play with the top two teams in each pool advancing into the playoffs. The age group is 19 and under. The iS8/Nike starts on Saturday September 20th or 21st and runs for about a month. Games are held on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

FunSport High School Classic
The FunSport HS Classic run by Rickey Rivers returns to Thomas Jefferson HS in Brooklyn, NY after an absence of six years. At one point the event featured many of the top New York players. Hoping to continue where it left off, the fall session which will run from Saturday September 14th - 28th features (8) top ranked varsity teams and (8) junior varsity teams playing 3-game pool play followed by single-game elimination playoff rounds. The goal of the fall season is to welcome out-of-state teams so our top tier teams compete against new talent before the vigorous schedules of both the PSAL and CHSAA begin.
